Happy 2026…Let’s talk Resolutions…again!

And just like that… the holidays are officially behind us and a brand-new year is right in front of us. There’s something about the start of a new year that feels refreshing, hopeful, and maybe just a little motivating. The decorations are packed away, routines are settling back in, and everywhere you look people are talking about New Year’s resolutions. Love them or hate them, they’ve become a tradition all their own.

I don’t know about you, but every year I go into January with the best intentions. This is the year I’m going to do all the things — eat better, move more, be more organized, stress less, and somehow magically have more time in the day. Sound familiar? New Year’s resolutions often start out big, bold, and full of excitement. And honestly, that’s not a bad thing. There’s something powerful about hitting the reset button and saying, “This year, I want to try.”

Over the years, I’ve learned that resolutions don’t have to be overwhelming to be meaningful. They don’t need to be dramatic or life-changing overnight. Sometimes the best resolutions are the simple ones — the ones that focus on everyday moments. Spending more time with family. Being more present. Saying yes to things that bring joy and no to things that don’t. Those are the resolutions that tend to stick around a little longer than January.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that resolutions look different for everyone, and that’s okay. Some people love lists and goals and checkmarks. Others prefer intentions or a “word of the year” to guide them. There’s no right or wrong way to approach a new year. The important part is choosing something that works for you, not what everyone else is doing.

As we settle into the new year, I’m trying to remind myself that progress doesn’t have to be perfect. Some days will feel productive and motivating, and others will feel slow — and both are completely normal. A new year isn’t about pressure; it’s about possibility. It’s about giving yourself grace while still believing you can grow.

So, whether you’ve written down a long list of resolutions, picked one simple goal, or decided to skip resolutions altogether, here’s to a fresh start. Here’s to new routines, new memories, and new opportunities waiting just ahead. Cheers to a happy, healthy, and hopeful new year — one small step at a time. 🎉✨
